Early morning is the best time to listen and look for birds, especially in the spring. We expect to see and hear a lot of birds at Indian Creek Greenway, including some open country species near the northern terminus near Creekwood. Experiencing Bird Behavior Up Close with Herb Lewis
We’ll take a look at a broad range of bird behaviors that are difficult to observe during typical birding tours in the field. The success of attracting a wide variety of birds to a backyard wildlife-habitat garden has provided opportunities to observe exceptional behaviors up close. Swift Night Out! Swifts Over Huntsville
Join us as we watch one of our favorite urban birds, Chimney Swifts, work themselves up into their nightly “swiftnado,” and then count the number of individuals who enter the roost. We will meet at the downtown courthouse at the North side stairs at 6 p.m. and begin with a brief introduction to swifts and why chimneys are important to them.
